To an intermediate Python developer, I think I would rather take the couple good ones from this book, and not look back.1/3 are programming interview questions that I could get from Hackerrank,Over 100 pages are page-filler space-math junk that is frankly arbitrary in terms of getting better at Python, and being spoon-fed pygame code over and over again.and 1/3 is genuinely interesting exercises (algorithms especially)

I thought “Impractical Python Projects” was an interesting and creative demonstration of the problem solving capabilities of the popular Python programming language. The exercises are fun and thought provoking. The subject matter was presented in an entertaining and amusing manner. This book improved my programming skills, vocabulary, and galactic knowlege.

I have 10 years+ programming experience and 5 recent years extensively on python. I found this book interesting and useful. It's designed to follow a complete beginners book or class. What is unique about this book is that it uses a project-based approach instead of python.org module tutorials. I found myself rewarded immediately after go through each project instead of traditionally I need to finish entire python training before you can write an application. As I walked through the projects, I learn a lot of useful python modules like pygame, pylint, matplotlib. A lot of those are the libraries used for scientific computing! Python is THE language for data science and quick engineering work. I encourage learning in fun by playing games. Five star!

Received the DVD within 2 days and the access code was provided on the back of the DVD case.

The only reason I gave it one star is because the product did not come with the access code so I can not use it. Once I get the access code I will update the product review after using it for a short whileUPDATE: TOOK LIKE 4 DAYS to get code a lot of back-n-forth...tried software it really easy to pickup n follow along my new review is 4.8 stars if I could do it.

The simulator did not come with the access code. There are no instructions included that tell you where the access code is supposed to be located.I searched and found a couple forums that said the code is supposed to be on the back of the CD case, but it was not on mine.I emailed Pearson support who replied the next day and told me it was on the back of the CD case. I sent them a copy of the email containing my purchase invoice. They didn't like the format, so they asked for another version. I sent the PDF version.This is very frustrating. Don't purchase the CD version, buy the downloadable version instead. I don't know what I was thinking when I ordered the CD version, but don't make the same mistake.Update: Pearson support responded very quickly after they received a proof of purchase. The access code worked and I'm using the simulator. I'll update this review after I get some experience with it.

Great book. If you want real life philosophy in to your kindle or inside pocket, this is it. I found the chapter about action incredible. This is useful philosophy. It's concrete, which you can easily apply to everything you do in life. For example: "Only actions give life strength", sounds simple, but how many people really live by it. Bruce Lee ties words into simple, but thoughtful sentences.

I really enjoyed reading this. I read it gradually in the span of about a year. The reason being that I'd come back to it when I couldn't sleep. When I first began to read this, it helped me quiet my mind. It got me into books about life and being. I think many might look this book over but it can give a very valuable perspective on life if open minded. I didn't realize how intelligent Bruce Lee was until reading this book!

I purchased this book to supplement my MA library in the hope that whenever I'm stuck in a mental rut, bored or lacking motivation, Bruce Lee's words would help to illuminate the (possible) cause of the impasse and show me the way back to my own center.This book covers a number of different areas of life and awareness and if you were to breeze through it in a store, you may be tempted to blow it off as a collection of 'fortune cookie' answers to questions you haven't bothered to ask yourself. I felt this way when I skimmed through it in a local store. Still mildly interested, I thought about what I had read and returned to Amazon to read the available excerpts and then ordered this book. In the week that passed, I had unearthed some issues that were inhibiting my training both in and out of the dojo and was at a loss for a complete solution. Thanks to Bruce Lee's insights, I saw these knots from a different perspective -sometimes slightly different, sometimes in glaring contrast to what I had wrongly assumed is more or less true at all times -the latter being an indicator of a stale mind and spirit.Budo (whatever form or style) is a means to train the body to respond efficiently and economically. What is often forgotten is that in the beginning (of training), we pay a great deal of attention to the manner in which our mind, thoughts, feelings and body respond -singularly and/or as a whole. As skill improves, this awareness and interest wanes in favor of attention to being as good as or better than our peers -as a result, the wholeness experienced in the early days of training takes a backseat and due to neglect, creates that nagging sense that 'something ain't right'. That 'something' is malnutrition and poor diet -a condition of the mind and spirit as well as the body.In the 30 minute bus ride to my dojo, reading Bruce Lee's view on Pre-conditioning of the individual by society -at present and throughout history -along with a couple of statements on attention and awareness -filled in the gaps and corrected errors in my own thought processes. Once in the dojo (and during quiet time before training), I decided to apply what I had read. The brain fog cleared quickly and training became a 'whole' experience again. This alone is worth more than the cost of the book.While the entries are brief, the effect is like eating a power bar - just enough when you need it. The contents are arranged according to areas addressed and the viewpoints are short and to the point.To make a short story long ("too late", I know), this is a good book to have around -especially when you need a 'thought for the day' and a great supplement toward a well rounded MA library in order to continue as a whole person on the complex path of budo.

The author's innovative interpretation of these efforts is punctuated by three events: the creation of an Inquisition tribunal in Mexico in 1571; the native rebellion of Tehuantepec in 1660; and the emergence of eerily modern strategies for isolating idolaters, teaching Spanish to natives, and obtaining medical proof of sorcery from the 1720s onwards. Rather than depicting native devotions solely from the viewpoint of their colonial codifiers, this book rescues indigenous perspectives on their own beliefs. This is achieved by an analysis of previously unknown or rare ritual texts that circulated in secrecy in Nahua and Zapotec communities through an astute appropriation of European literacy. Tavárez contends that native responses gave rise to a colonial archipelago of faith in which local cosmologies merged insights from Mesoamerican and European beliefs. In the end, idolatry eradication inspired distinct reactions: while Nahua responses focused on epistemological dissent against Christianity, Zapotec strategies privileged confrontations in defense of native cosmologies.
